§ 5.01. FIRE DEPARTMENT ORGANIZATION .

    MEMBERSHIP. The Fire Department of the Village shall be known as the Village of Germantown Fire Department and shall consist of the Fire Chief, Deputy Chiefs, Captains, Lieutenants and as many drivers, firefighters and EMTs as may be provided by Department rules and regulations to provide the necessary services to the community.

    APPOINTMENT, TERMS, DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS. The Police and Fire Commission shall appoint the Fire Chief, who shall hold office during good behavior, subject to suspension or removal by the Commission for cause. The Chief shall appoint subordinate members of the Department, subject to approval by the Police and Fire Commission. Such appointments, promotions, suspensions and removals shall be made as provided in §62.13, Wis. Stats., which section is adopted by reference and made a part hereof.

    REGULATIONS. Members of the Department shall be governed by the rules and regulations adopted by the Fire Chief, resolutions and ordinances of the Village Board and the Wisconsin Statutes.

    (4)

    INTENT AND PURPOSE. The mission of the Germantown Fire Department is to prevent or minimize injury and the loss of life and property when a fire or other emergency occurs; to maintain a professional level of protection providing fire, rescue and hazardous materials services for our community through training and educational programs; to mitigate the consequences of natural and manmade disasters; and to provide prevention and educational programs for all ages as requested by our community.
