§ 26.10. RECONSTRUCTION OF HISTORIC STRUCTURES. (Cr. Ord. #12-10)

  • Notwithstanding the provisions of section 17.48 of this Code, a historic structure which has previously been designated by the Village with the "HD" zoning designation may be repaired, reconstructed or rebuilt, at a cost irrespective of assessed valuation of the structure; provided however, that the historic structure shall be repaired, reconstructed or rebuilt in its footprint and in accord with its architectural detail and appearance which existed at the time of its historic designation. Exterior architectural reproduction shall be reviewed and approved by the Historical Preservation Committee before issuance of a building permit. To the degree that the footprint location and exterior appearance of the historic structure are not determinable by reference to documents and photographs placed on file with the Village at the time of historic designation, the owner will be responsible to prove to the satisfaction of the Historical Preservation Committee, the footprint location and exterior architectural detail.
