§ 1.372. SENIOR CENTER ADVISORY COMMITTEE . (Cr. Ord. #36-03)

    MEMBERSHIP. (Am. Ord. #12-06; Am. Ord. #12-18) The Senior Center Advisory Committee shall consist of 5 [6] members, as follows: a non-club citizen resident of the Village, a Senior Club member who shall be a Village resident, a Senior Club member or non-member who shall be a Village resident, the Senior Center Director who shall be an ex officio member, and 2 Village Trustees. All committee members shall be appointed by the Village President, subject to confirmation by the Village Board.

    TERMS. The terms of the non-ex officio committee members shall be staggered 2-year terms, and until a successor is duly appointed; however, if a citizen member shall remove from the Village, or a Trustee member shall no longer serve in that office, such seat shall be vacant, and subject to reappointment for the remainder of the unexpired term.

    (3)

    POWERS AND DUTIES. The committee shall meet regularly, and not less frequently than quarterly, to oversee operation of the Senior Center, and shall advise the Village Board of Trustees regarding the operations and programs of the Senior Center and recommended governing policy.

    (4)

    ADMINISTRATION.

    (a)

    The Senior Center Director shall work under the supervision of the Village Administrator, and shall be responsible for scheduling and supervision of the Center building use.

    (b)

    The Director shall be responsible for revenues and expenditures in the Senior Center budget, which shall be appropriated as an independent departmental budget. All fees collected from senior programs and building rentals shall be credited to the Senior Center budget. Building maintenance shall be the responsibility of the Buildings and Grounds Superintendent, and internal charges shall be made for such services to the Senior Center budget to the same extent as is the case with independent departments of the Village.

    (c)

    Financial transactions of the Center shall be audited on an annual basis in conjunction with the general Village audit.
